Prosecutor Brad L. Gessner has been with the Summit County Prosecutor's Office since May 2001, after serving as a criminal prosecutor in Canton, and Medina and Mahoning counties for years. He also was formerly in the civil practice of law in Youngstown and Warren. He has a B.A. degree from Walsh University and his law degree from the University of Akron. He has also taught business law and criminology at Walsh University. He is assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit for the prosecutor's office.

Attorney Joseph F. Gorman is a partner in Gorman, Malarcik, Pierce & Vuillemin. He graduated from Canisius College in 1991 and the University of Akron School of Law in 1994. That same year he was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association and is authorized to practice in the Northern District of Ohio Federal Court. He is a four year veteran of the United States Air Force.

This seminar will provide an overview of the basics of criminal law litigation from the perspective of both the defense and the prosecution. The program is beneficial for those who have minimal criminal litigation experience as well as those who want a refresher course.
