Description: In this one-hour program, Mr. Bickett will address Types of Loans; Dischargeability of the Department of Education Student Loans; Dischargeability of the Department of Health and Human Services Loans and Scholarships; Dischargeability of Military Educational Benefits; Preference Period and Postpetition Offsets and Collections; Obtaining Information on Student Loans; Non-dischargeability Determination not Binding in Subsequent Cases; Chapter 13 Plan Provision Should not, but may Discharge a Student Loan by Declaration; College Cost Reduction and Access Act; Pay as You Earn Plan; and Evidentiary Issues.
Speaker Bio: Assistant U.S. Attorney, Civil Division (1990-present). Areas of specialization: bankruptcy, financial litigation, and civil fraud. University of Akron (B.S. 1972, M.S.
